Operations
Our production facilities are located in three
farms:
Pichilingo Farm
Altitude Sea Level to 30 mts.
Temperature Range 21 – 33º C
Type of Soil
Has 1,500 acres located in the northern coast of Guatemala, 3 miles from Santo Tomas Port which is the most important port on the Atlantic coast of Guatemala. In our farm we also own the largest resort and marina in northern and Central America called Amatique Bay. In this farm we produce golden arecas. We have seven hectares under saran and we will expand to 10
hectares.
Currently we have 200,000 arecas on cultivation at different stages of growth. Our termination area where we root them in pots sizes from 6 to 10 inches, we have the most modern metal greenhouse structures for our plants as well as loading facilities for several
containers.
The plantation is located 3 miles from the port which results in lower cost of transportation by reducing the in-land freight, making us more competitive.
Climatic conditions are ideal for palms, especially arecas.
Our agriculture practices are the most advanced including drip fertilization and irrigation, application of hummus from earth worms to each plant making our plants
healthier.
Our new loading terminal facilities are designed to handle two containers simultaneously. Our plantations are being very ecologically developed and we have committed a large portion of our farm to reforestation. We have 450,000 trees of species like Mundani (Acrocarpus fraxinifolius) and Teak which are part of an oxygen exchange reforestation program to provide the absorption of CO2 and production of
oxygen.
